Problem: A Hotel Restaurant Guests Didn’t Know About

As part of its accommodation services, Hotel Steelhouse operates a restaurant intended for both hotel guests and the general public. However, visitors to the building often remained unaware of it due to a lack of adequate promotion. The operator of Steelhouse approached us to design a solution that would increase restaurant awareness and improve navigation within the premises. Additionally, the operator wanted to communicate with visitors in a modern way, providing as much relevant information as possible—such as opening hours for individual services, their locations, and current offers. Steelhouse requested solutions from several suppliers. Based on their inquiry, we visited the site, discussed the possibilities, and recommended the best option. Management chose our proposal, and together we moved forward with the implementation.

Solution: Innovative Technology by Smartgenio

We recommended the installation of a large LCD information panel to Steelhouse. Correct placement and screen size were crucial; they wanted it positioned so that no visitor could miss it while quickly obtaining all necessary information. Together, we selected a large 65″ LCD that easily catches the eye of passersby and placed it in the reception area. Several locations were considered, but we wanted the screen to be the centerpiece of the space—not just informative, but also providing a modern visual experience for visitors. Steelhouse emphasized a tasteful and elegant design, so we aimed to recess the LCD screen into the wall. A construction company assisted by preparing a drywall partition where the screen was mounted. Thanks to a special wall mount, the screen became part of the wall, perfectly flush, with no wires or cables disturbing the aesthetic experience. The mount allows the screen to mechanically extend from the recessed wall for service access to the controls if needed. The installation went smoothly, was completed on schedule, and management is very satisfied with the result. We delivered a smart solution that the facility operator uses on a daily basis.

Result: A More Vibrant Lobby and Real-Time Information

The large LCD screen captures the attention of every visitor immediately upon entering the lobby. The elegant design draws the eye of every passerby, allowing them to easily learn about everything the Steelhouse administrative center has to offer. The recessed screen feels modern and grand, yet subtle and tasteful at the same time. It brings modern technology to the center of Třinec and helps operators communicate with visitors in a new, contemporary way.

On the screen, visitors can view the hotel restaurant menu and get excited about a great gastronomic experience in advance. Thanks to the new promotion, the restaurant has seen higher attendance from the general public. Beyond highlighting the restaurant, Steelhouse also informs its customers about the weather and teambuilding events, and provides updates on happenings in the building and other services. Among other things, you can find out every day which staff member is celebrating a birthday or name day.

The building management now manages the content on the LCD panel, updating information weekly. However, the solution allows for changes much more frequently—practically anytime. It is specifically the ease of use and the speed of publishing information that Steelhouse management highlights as a key added value. If the offer changes, visitors see the updated information on the screen instantly.
